The Open Virtualisation Format (OVF; DSP0243) is a schema for describing a virtual machine or a collection of virtual machines. The initiative is the results of efforts by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) who, amongst other standards, are responsible for the Common Information Model (CIM).
